August, one of MY biggest mistakes was not following you sooner. You get something (probably not as much from screwing up as you say you did) that took me forever to understand — the readers are the money. You can collect readers any time. The book is what you give them, once it’s written, but the people who will read that book are willing to tell you who they are right now.
